The work we keep getting asked to do
A regulation lands with a deadline attached. Money gets budgeted to help the sector comply. Every organization in that sector suddenly needs the same three things: a system that meets the requirement, staff trained to run it, and a funding application in before the intake closes. We do all three, in that order or all at once.
It keeps happening because that is how modernization actually arrives. Not as a trend. As a due date.
Fisheries
Federal electronic logbook requirements are replacing paper reporting across Atlantic lobster fisheries. We designed an adoption program for the Nova Scotia fleet: vendor selection, funding route, rollout plan.
Disability support
A court-ordered remedy moves every Disability Support Program participant in Nova Scotia to individualized funding by March 2028. Paper timesheets cannot produce per-participant billing. We prepare Service Evolution Fund applications and scope the payroll and records systems the transition requires.
Group benefits
A renewal letter discloses the carrier’s own pricing math, and almost nobody reads it. We built software that does.
Fathom
Benefits brokerage software, built in Halifax, in production today.
Fathom reads carrier renewal documents and returns computed renewal projections, priced plan changes and client-ready proposals. It runs the daily book at East Coast Employee Benefits. The document reading is AI assisted. Every figure is computed, not generated, and can be checked line by line.
The government will help pay for this. Most eligible organizations never apply.

Scotia Blue started on the water and stays there: electronic logbooks, catch reporting, vessel monitoring, and technology scouting for aquaculture operators weighing gear from abroad. If your fishery or farm is facing a reporting requirement, start with the ELOG program.
